An anniversary to remember! On Saturday (October 30th, 2010) we embarked on our very first trip to Costa Rica. We’ve anticipated this trip since the first week we met… our “bucket list” trip, you might say. After a rigorous search for an oasis with the perfect blend of nature, luxury and local flavor we stumbled across Rio Magnolia, an eco-lodge situated high on a mountain in the lush and remote rainforests of South Puntarenas.
The overwhelming beauty of the landscape, architecture and decor is only surpassed by the hospitality of our hosts, John and Maureen, who built the lodge from the ground up. Their attention to detail and artful mastery of being involved and attentive-yet never intrusive- makes it the perfect home away from home and has exceeded our every expectation. Not to mention- Maureen’s cooking is brilliant!
Join us on our day-by-day journey as we explore eco-tourism in the vast Costa Rican wilderness, the laid back surf culture of Playa Dominical and the more traditional agricultural town of San Isidro. This is our first time blogging so we aren’t totally sure what to expect, but we’re glad you stopped by! To follow along with our day by day adventures, click on the days listed above.
